I’d done a picture a couple of years ago of a girl sitting in a chair surrounded by pink iguanas (they were in the news quite a bit then, as it had recently been discovered they were genetically distinct from their green cousins — fascinating!) The perspective on the chair was a bit wonky, though, and I thought the girl was somewhat stiff looking. I still liked the color scheme though, and the idea of a bookish girl and stoic looking lizards. So, I redid the piece, this time with no chair and action-filled iguanas.

My husband especially likes the iguanas’ expressions. A bit less stoic than I’d planned, but they certainly look happy about their newfound flight abilities. Here’s the older picture, by the way, for comparison:
